I used one of the colourful butterfly Digi papers 7 3/4'' x 7 3/4'' in the background. I added that to a white 8''x8'' mat, which I have gone around the edges and glittered.
  • Next I took a blue flower Digi paper and added that to a white mat and attached to the centre.
  • I then added another pink layer on a white mat and layered it in a diamond orientation  to the front of my card base.
  • The next thing I have done is cut out it's your birthday topper sheet with a circle scalloped die running it through my die cutting machine and adhering it to the front using foam pads.
  • I have then used some of the fussy cut elements, The present and the love heart and glued them with wet glue just behind the topper. I then used the butterfly fussy cut elements and scattered the around the page.
  • I used some self adhesive pearls to decorate the butterflies and the present and also used my sparkle pen to add some highlights of shimmer to the card. The last thing I added was the white pom pom string to the top of the card.

Under the sea card

Hello and welcome to my blog, today I would like to share with you a easel shaker card I've made. This card was made using Polkadoodles Winnie Sandcastles Digi kit. I wanted to make a fun underwater scene with a shaker element.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Here is the card I've made, please see all instructions and products used blow.

  • To start with I have created an 8''x8'' easel card by simply using it in a tend fold orientation and scoring the card and folding the top part in half.
  • Next I have printed out all my papers and elements for the card using my brother laser printer and coloured using pro markers and fussy cut them out, I have used two 7 3/4'' x 7 3/4'' underwater Digi paper backgrounds. I have used one layer on the bottom half of the card and glued in place with wet glue.
  • Next I have created a white 8''x8'' square frame using my square nesting dies, I have then run this through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder to add some texture, I also inked around the edges with a blue ink and blending tool.
  • I added an 8''x8'' acetate piece to the back of the frame and glue in place, then added a double layer of foam tape all around the edge of the frame ensuring this is completely sealed and no sequins can escape.
  • I added my sequins to the centre of the next Digi background backing paper and added the frame with the acetate over the top thus encapsulating the sequins inside. I then added this to the front of the base card ensuring I only glued the bottom half enabling the card to open and close.
  • I created a stopper for the bottom piece of the card by layering some fussy cut fish on foam pads, I then added the rest of the fussy cut elements to the top half of the card.

Products used:
  • Polkadoodles Winnie Sandcastles big Kahuna Digi kit
  • Hunkydory moonstone square layering dies
  • Sue Wilson basket weave embossing folder
  • Hunkydory Blue Lagoon shimmer ink pad

Christmas wishes

Hello and welcome to my blog, today I would like to share with you my first Christmas card of the year. It feels very strange to be making this in July, in the middle of Summer here in the UK, but it's never too early to make a start on your Christmas crafting. This card is simple and elegant and perfect for somebody special at Christmas.

I would like to enter  this card into the following challenges:

Please see below for all instructions and products used:

  • Starting from the bottom I have a 5x7 white card blank then a pearlescent blue mat. I have taken a silver and white mat layer and using a snowflake background stamp from a magazine freebie, I have stamped all around the edges of both the silver and white card stock pieces in ranger clear perfect medium the heat embossed the image with a silver superfine embossing powder. With the silver piece I have run my glue pen all around the edge of the card stock and added some iridescent glitter and fixed all three panels onto the base of my card using wet glue.
  • Next I have taken another piece of the silver pearlescent card stock and a piece of white card stock. With the white piece I have run this through my die cutting machine with a snowflake background die, again the die free from a magazine. With The Silver piece I have used a snowflake embossing folder and also run this through the die cutting machine, I have fixed the white die cut piece to the silver embossed panel and attached to the front of the card with wet glue.
  • For the bauble, this die was also free from a magazine. I have used a piece of the same blue pearlescent cardstock as the background panels and cut out the outline shape of the bauble with my die cutting machine, next I have traced around the inside of the die onto white cardstock and hand cut the centre piece, I ran the white centre piece through my die cutting machine with another embossing folder. For the tag I have heat embossed the sentiment onto the blue cardstock with silver superfine embossing powder. I then attached the bauble on a slight angle with foam pads onto the front of my card.
  •  For the embellishments I have cut some snowflakes out with a die and attached to the bauble with some gems to the centre. I also added some gems to the centre of the snowflakes in the die cut background. And finally I have added a silver organza bow above the bauble and die cut a small poinsettia flower to cover the knot.

And finally here is my inspiration contribution for this month.... please see all instructions and products used to create this card below:

  •  For this card I first started with the main Image from Charlie's stamps adorable kitten, I printed this off on my Brother laser printer and I used alcohol markers to colour my design so I could then match it with the papers I wanted to use. (Please see list of colours used below in product details)
  • For the base card I used a white 7x7 card blank 300gsm, I've then added lots of mats and layers to create a backdrop for this image, starting at the bottom I have a piece of watercolour washes paper in blue, then a holographic mirror card, next is a white mat which I have gone around the edge with a glue pen and added some iridescent glitter to, then I have a blue mat.
  • For the geometric background I have stamped the background stamp onto 5x5 piece of card stock from the watercolour paper pad, the same one as in the background mats and layers. I stamped the image then I have heat embossed using a silver embossing powder, and backed this onto a piece of holographic mirror card. Before adhering all these layers to the card I have wrapped around a blue piece of ribbon across the middle and securing to the back of all the layers then glued the layers to the base card using wet glue.
  • The next thing I have done is create a frame for my image, to do this I have used dies. First I took some white card stock and a fancy nesting die, I've cut the base and the fancy shape both in white card stock and layered them together. To create the circle frame around the image I have used my scalloped circle dies in two different sizes and white card stock to create a frame, once cut I have then run the frame through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder, I added the frame over the image with some foam pads and added all the layers to the centre of the card with foam pads too.
  • For the sentiments, 'I hope your day is..... PURRRFECT' was simply created of Microsoft Word and printed out, cut into strips and added to the card using foam pads.
  • For the embellishments on this card I have first created a paper flower I have used the same watercolour washes pad and stamped the flower image and heat embossed in silver embossing powder, I have repeated this three times so I have three flower images, I've fussy cut them out then shaped them slightly with my tweezers and layered them together using 3D gel and added a crystal to the centre of the flower.
  • For the bow I have wrapped blue tissue paper around a piece of craft wire then formed the wire into the shape of a bow. I added the bow to the right hand side of the image and glued the flower over the top using 3D gel to fix.
  • The last thing I have done to complete this card was add some self adhesive gems to the geometric background.
Products used:
  • Charlie's stamps - Adorable kitten available here: Charlies stamps

And finally here's my inspiration for this weeks Digi Choosday challenge blog #week26
Please see all instructions and products used below:

  • To start with I have made my pop up box base on an A4 piece of paper I have measured out a guide to create the box - here are the dimensions
  • I have used this template to create two of these on 300gsm cardstock. I have cut and scored where appropriate then used the flaps to adhere the two panels together. Once I had the basic box, I then created three card pieces to slot inside the box to add the support.
  • Next I have downloaded and printed out all the elements from the Polkadoodles website I have used Miss USAFriesBurgerFried chickenStarfish Sandcastles characters I have coloured all the images using my Promarkers and Chameleon colour tone pens and fussy cut them out.
  • I have then decorated the outside of the pop up box, to do this I have used red and blue card creating mats and layers to go on the out side panels, I have then used a star shaped die and cut this out using my cutting machine and white card stock and adhered to the front panel of the box.
  • For the flap panels I have matted them with the red card then used another background star die cutting this out in the blue card and matting onto a white card stock piece I glued all these panels on to the outside flaps of the box using wet glue.
  • To create some support for the pop up elements I have used the same background star die in red and backed in white card and attached them to each of the support sections inside the box.
  • To add the characters and elements I have used strips of acetate, I have used red liner tape to add the elements and used the tape again to attach the acetate to the inside of the box.
  • To fill out some of the space I have added some additional elements, I have used my heart and star shaped dies and some Digi papers from Polkadoodles
Products used:
  • Red and Blue card stock card stock pad
  • All the characters and Digi stamps available on the website
  • Star, background and heart dies are all from Hunkydory
