Crafters Companion penny slider - looking for rainbows

Hello and welcome to my blog, today I would like to share with you a card I have made using the Crafters Companion Penny slider - looking for rainbows, I have created these two cards for my design team inspiration. Here are the details:

Gemini - Stamp & Die - Look For Rainbows

Bring the cutest characters to life with magical movement in the Penny Slider Stamp & Die Collection! This clever range adds some amazing animation to your cardmaking creations using a penny coin.

With the Penny Slider set you can use penny to move a cute character along its path. Designed to fit perfectly on any size of card base this collection will add a new sense of fun to your cardmaking creations!

The Look For Rainbows set includes 12 stamps and dies to bring that all important sunshine after the rain. Featuring a cheerful sunbeam that floats over a rainbow, alongside heart embellishments and positive messages this card shines with happiness!

All you have to do is use the Stamp & Die set along with some 3D Foam Pads and a couple of pennies - don’t worry each set comes with step-by-step instructions as well!

All you need is a die-cutting machine, a die and your chosen card or paperstock. Simply create your plate combination using the helpful Sandwich Guide in the instruction manual and run through your die-cutting machine – it’s that simple!

The stamps are made from the highest quality clear acrylic, which means that you can see straight through the stamp to line up the image accurately. Just adhere your chosen stamp to an acrylic block  and stamp away! This means that you're guaranteed accurate impressions every time.

These stamps are highly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways. They can be applied like a traditional stamp, or used with heat embossing powders to create an incredible raised effect. You can also try stamping them on vellum paper for a weathered look.

Pick up the full Penny Slider range to see how you can breathe new life into your crafting!

Here is the first card I have made, all details and products used are below:
  • To make this card I have created a circle easel from my nesting dies in white cardstock, I then created a blue and yellow matt layer for the bottom, and a blue layer for the top. I have turned the top layer into a shaker window by adding a white frame with foam tape and sealed some sequins inside with acetate. Before gluing all my layers onto the base card I have wrapped a piece of ribbon around and secured it to the back, and added the layers with wet glue.
  • Next I have used a piece of white card stock and stamped out and coloured my image using my tri-blend brush marker and fussy cut the separate elements, once coloured I have cut the who image from a circle die
  • To create my slider track I have used the die from the set to die cut in the middle of the panel, I have then raised this up on a double layer of foam pads ensuring to keep clear of the track allowing the penny to have plenty of room to slide.
  • On my circle panel  with one penny underneath showing through the die cut track I have added two small circular foam pads to one penny then attached the second penny to the front of the track panel, so you have a penny behind and a penny in front of the panel secured with round foam pads. I then checked my mechanism was working before securing the whole panel to the base card on the shaker window.
  • For the sentiment rainbows I have used my sparkle pens direct to white card and created a was of rainbow colours then run through the machine with the die cut sentiment, I have attached this to the bottom of the card using wet glue.
  • To finish off my card I have added a bow, the rest of my die cut elements including the Sun over the penny and a few gems.
Products used:
The next card I have created is from the same set:

  • To create this card I have started with a white 7''x7'' base card, I have created a patterned paper layer measuring 6.75''x6.75'' then another layer measuring 6.5''x6.5'' and finally a white layer measuring 6.25''x6.25''. On the white piece I have used a stencil, some quick dry inks and a blending brush to create this background, before securing all the layers I have wrapped a piece of ribbon around the middle attaching it at the back of the panel before gluing it to the base card with wet glue.
  • Next I have stamped, and coloured my images with my tri-blend brush markers and die cut the sun element, I have also stamped the sentiment sending you sunshine and happy thoughts and die cut with a small circle tag and threaded some twine at the top.
  • To create my slider track I have used the die from the set to die cut in the middle of the panel, and cut it into a larger circle panel I have then raised this up on a double layer of foam pads ensuring to keep clear of the track allowing the penny to have plenty of room to slide.
  • On my panel  with one penny's underneath showing through the die cut track I have added two small circular foam pads to one penny then attached the second penny to the front of the track panel, so you have a penny behind and a penny in front of the panel secured with round foam pads. I then checked my mechanism was working and cut another larger circle from patterned paper for the panel to sit on before securing it to the card base with foam pads.
  • To finish this card off I have added my die cut Sun the the penny with foam pads, added some gems to the corner and attached my sentiment to a bow and secured to the card.

There are four separate dies within this collection consisting of the Floral StagFloral HareFloral Wolf, and finally the beautiful floral butterfly

Achieve a professional finish to all your papercraft projects by cutting your materials with these dies for accuracy and precision. With a simple pass through the Gemini die-cutting machine or any other compatible die-cutting machine, you can cut multiple layers of your paper or card to produce several elements at once.

All you need is a die-cutting machine, a die and your chosen card or paper stock.

Collect all of the Gemini Elements Floral Animals Die collection to unleash your wild side!

Lets have a look at some of the cards I created, starting with the Floral stag.

All details and products used are below:

  • To create this card I have started with a white 5''x7'' tent fold base card, which I have scored and created into an easel card. I have added an additional 5''x7'' white matt layer to the front of the base card.
  • I have created some matts and layers using black card stock measuring 4.75''x6.75'' and a patterned layer measuring 4.5''x6.6''  and glued these to the base card using wet glue - as shown.
  • The next thing I have done is create my floral stag topper die, to do this I have run the base die through my Gemini with white card stock to give me the background layer, then with a piece of craft card stock I have run this through the Gemini with the floral stage element. I have glue the two pieces together.
  • I wanted to make this topper pop from the back ground so I have fussy cut a black layer to sit behind the white attaching to the card with foam pads.
  • From the patterned paper pad I have used some of the die cut elements, the butterflies, the circle topper and the sentiment. Again I wanted these to pop from the card so I have matted them with a black fussy cut layer and added them to the card with foam pads, the circle topper becoming my stopper for the easel.
Products used:
The next card I have made is the Floral Hare die:

  • For this card I have created a 7''x7'' gate fold card, I have cut some matts and layers for the front using some coloured textured card stock and some patterned papers, I have also decorated the inside of the card in the same way.
  • I have cut the base of the floral Hare in brown card stock and the floral element in a neutral beige and layered them together using wet glue, and adhered to the inside of the card.
  • I have die cut the sentiment best wishes from the same brown card stock and also added to the inside of the card with wet glue.
  • For the front of the card I have created a wrap using vellum and some circle nesting dies, with some gems in the corner to finish off the card.
Products used:

  • To make this card I have started with a 5''x7'' White base card, I have created a dark grey matt layer measuring 4.75''x6.75'' then a silver matt mirror layer measuring 4.5''x6.5'' and finally another lighter grey matt layer measuring 4.25''x6.25'' and adhered them to the base of the card using wet glue
  • nest I have used the floral die wolf background piece and dark grey card stock to cut the backing layer, the cut the floral wolf layer in light blue card stock and attached this to the backing piece with wet glue. I have added this topper to the base card with foam pads.
  • For the hello die I have cut this out twice in white card stock and once in dark grey card stock. I have gone over the dark grey die cut hello with some clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a glossy affect. I have then stacked this onto the two other white die cut pieces and backed onto a light blue background, again adding this to the base card with foam pads.
  • To finish off this card I have added some pearls to the corners.

And finally here is my favourite of the four the floral butterfly:

  • To make this card I have started with a white 8''x8'' base card, I have cut a matt blue layer at 7.75''x7.75'' and a pattered paper layer at 7.5''x7.5'' I have distressed the edges and gone around them with a light blue ink pad and blending brush.
  • Next I have repeated the process with the two strips across the middle, attaching all panels to the base card with wet glue.
  • I have used some smooth stamping card and some spectrum noir sparkle ink pots and added a few layers of ink down, once this was dry I have cut the butterfly base out of the sparkle inked card. I have them cut the floral butterfly image out of white card stock and added a clear sparkle ink over the top. Before I have glued this panel to the base card I have wrapped a piece of lace around the front attaching it to the back of the layers then securing them using foam pads.
  • I have die cut the sentiment thank you so much out of blue card stock then another two times from white card stock, stacking them together before attached them to the card.
  • For the final finishing touch I have added some gems and a lace bow.

Creative fingers - Chloe's creative cards

Hello and welcome to my blog, today I would like to share with you my DT card as inspiration for this month. This months sponsor is the lovely Angelique, and you have the chance of winning an awesome stamp set. We would love you to join in with this challenge and here is where you can find us.  Creative fingers challenge blog All you have to do is enter your makes to be in with the chance of winning, as always the theme is 'Anything goes' hope to see you there.

For this card I have used my own stash of Chloe's creative card products

Here is my inspiration, all details and product list are below:

  • To make this card I have started with a white 8''x8'' base card, I have used a fancy nesting die to cut out the shaped card and turned it into an easel card, die cutting another white layer with the same fancy die cut in white card to layer over the top.
  • Next I have cut some matts and layers in mirror, glitter and pearl card. I have also created a couple of frames using the nesting dies.
  • On two white pieces of card I have stencilled a brickwork image in pink ink and a blending brush, once dry I have cut these again with my nesting dies to match the others. I have placed all these matts and layers onto the base card as shown.
  • For the flowers I have used cut and emboss folders to cut out lots of different sizes of the flowers and die cut some foliage. I have layered the flowers together with 3D glue gel and added some glitter and pearls, and left to one side to dry.
  • Whilst the flowers were drying I have die cut some layerable sentiments in glitter and mirror card and adhered together with wet glue.
  • Once the flowers were dry I have added these and the foliage and sentiments to the card as shown. To finish off the card I have added a bow and some pearls.
